Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)
SART provides services for children, teens and adults who have been sexually assaulted. The team conducts specialized exams, provides medical treatment, supports the survivors and their families, reduces the number of interviews for all children and adults who have been sexually assaulted or abused, and protects the rights of all parties as defensible evidence is collected. This is the first contact a survivor of sexual assault has with the medical/legal system. Medical exams are given at Cottage Hospital (Santa Barbara), Marion Medical Center (Santa Maria), and Lompoc Hospital (Lompoc). Clients must be referred by law enforcement.
