Return to Santa Barbara County

Dear Medical Volunteer,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for considering volunteerism as a way to help our medical community and support the quality of life we have here in Santa Barbara County. Our Medical Reserve Corps is housed within the Public Health Department and administered by the Emergency Medical Services Agency. Our relationship with these departments gives our corps strength as well as depth. We have direct access to our County Health Officer Dr. Elliot Schulman, our EMS Medical Director Dr. Angelo Salvucci, our Disaster Preparedness Branch, Epidemiology, clinics, and a host of other resources the Public Health Department has to offer.

MRC Coordinator

Our MRC has been building slowly but purposefully. We’ve set up a Steering Committee, have our own Policies & Procedures, a credentialing and secure photo ID card system and are beginning our membership drive. If you have a medical background, no primary responsibility to another employer or agency and the time and interest in becoming a member of our team, we want you!
Please take a moment to browse this website and if you are interested please take a few moments to fill the registration forms and send them off. That begins your application process. As a final point please review Incident Command 100 and the other training aids available on this website. Within a few weeks you will hear from us about the status of your application.

Sincerely,

John H. Eaglesham
