Smoking
and tobacco use is the single most important behavior that impacts
the health of our residents.
Smoking
rates have declined over the past 10 years but more work needs
to be done since more than 17% of our population still smokes
and smoking rates in our youth have been increasing for the past
3 years.
The
Public Health Department Tobacco Program is a leader in initiating
legislation and efforts to change smoking behavior, and reduce
youth access to tobacco products.
