Children's Dental Disease Prevention Program
Dental care is not a covered benefit under the
Santa Barbara Regional Health Authority. It is provided under
the State Denti-Cal program.
Not all dentists will work with children. Read
the ads in the Yellow Pages under Dentists to find one that
will accept children. Call them, tell them your needs, and ask
if they will accept Medi-Cal. If they won't, try another one.
Each dentist opens and closes their practice to new patients
at different times.
Many dentists will see an established patient
who later goes on Medi-Cal. If you have had dental work done
in the past, call that dentist and tell them that you have been
a patient there.
